"Nurturing children to Love, Learn and Shine"

Love Learn Shine

We are a Church of England school and living out the love and the teachings of Jesus are central to life here at Kirkburton. Our children love all their neighbours as themselves, learn by working hard and embracing challenges, and shine their lights and talents brightly every day.

Head Teacher's Message

A warm welcome from Headteacher Will Adams highlighting Kirkburton CE First School as a nurturing, church-informed community where children love, learn and shine, with a focus on wellbeing and community involvement.

SEND Provision

Our nurture provision is designed to support wellbeing for all children and links closely with our Pupil Premium offer; a dedicated Nurture Room is used daily to provide a safe, calm space to relax, talk and reflect; we use emotion check-in boards and maintain communication with parents when additional support is needed.

Admissions Criteria

We are an inclusive school. We welcome children and families of all faith backgrounds and of none. As a voluntary aided school, faith background is on our admissions criteria, but only if the school is over-subscribed.
