Computing: Kapow is the basis for our computing curriculum; online learning and safety are taught throughout the year; digital literacy and research skills are developed across subjects. Art: Open-ended creativity with a sketchbook; curriculum draws on Access Art, Paul Carney Arts and the East 39 programme; includes sewing, textiles, painting and printing; aims for full National Curriculum coverage. Geography: Fosters curiosity about the world; aims to develop global citizens; focuses on fieldwork and responsible attitudes to the planet. History: Develops chronological understanding and ability to interpret past events, people and changes; emphasizes use of historical sources and multiple interpretations. French: Promotes language learning, cultural awareness and respect; develops listening, speaking, writing and reading skills. Art Long Term Plan and DT Long Term Plan (design & technology) are in place to support creativity and practical skills across the curriculum.

Admissions Criteria

Admissions are managed by the local authority (Kirklees) as this is a voluntary controlled school. For Reception 2026, Kirklees residents should apply via the Kirklees admissions portal; Bradford residents should apply via Bradford District admissions. Closing date for Reception applications is 15 January 2026; National Offer Day is 16 April 2026. In-year admissions are managed by Kirklees. Appeals are handled through Kirklees. The school notes that applicants may list three ordered preferences and that placement is offered based on the highest preference where applicable.
