Head Teacher's Message

Headteacher Lynsey Wagstaff welcomes visitors and explains Thurstonland First School is a small rural school within the Green Hills First Federation, focused on building strong relationships, high standards and community links; invites visits and notes places available.

Three mixed-age classes: Class 1 (Foundation and Year 1), Class 2 (Year 2 and Year 3), Class 3 (Year 4 and Year 5)

Wraparound Care

Breakfast Club: Yes After-School Care: Yes

Breakfast Club operates each morning from 8:00am to 9:05am and provides a relaxed, fun environment for pupils prior to the start of the school day. After School Club operates straight after school from 3:30pm to 5:30pm, Monday to Thursday. Regular sessions can be booked via the school office and ad-hoc sessions may be available as a one-off at short notice, depending on capacity. Bookings can be made by telephoning the office or emailing. Breakfast Club £4.25 per child. After School Club £9 per child.

SEND Provision

The school has a designated SENCO (Mrs Lisa Kitchen) and SEND Policy; SEND Information Report and Local Offer information are available; FAQ for children with SEN provided.

Admissions Criteria

We currently have places in Reception, Year 1, Year 4 and Year 5 and we are open to applications for spaces in Reception 2025.
