Welcome to Holy Rood Catholic Primary School. The Headteacher, Mrs K Dobson, expresses pride in the school and its community, and outlines a commitment to developing opportunities, life skills and academic success for all pupils, with support to reach their full potential and preparation for the next stage of education.

The school is inclusive and aims to provide tailored support for pupils with SEND, with quality first teaching and additional support where needed, designed by staff in collaboration with families and external agencies (e.g., speech and language therapy, educational psychology). The SENDCo is Mrs K Dobson; SEND Governor is Mr L Redhead; the school works with Barnsley Local Authority in line with SEN Code of Practice and Equality Act.
The current Catholic proportion of children is around 36% and applications from non-Catholic families are warmly welcomed. We have a Nursery that takes children from the age of three for 3 hours per day. In-Year Applications: applications outside the admission round admitted where places available. If oversubscribed, published oversubscription criteria apply. Information can be found via Barnsley LA. Applicants will be informed of the outcome within 10-15 school days. Right to appeal.
