IEP-based learning with MDT targets and termly updates Two-year topic cycles across Step 1, Step 2 and Step 3 Topic-based curriculum covering Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, Personal, Social and Emotional Education, Relationships and Health Education, Religious Education, Expressive Arts and Design, and Physical Development Communication and Interaction taught across the curriculum Learning through play and repeated sessions Forest School and annual Enrichment Week; whole-school themed days Reading approach includes shared books, sensory stories, book exploration, songs, Look and Listen sessions, 1:1 and small group work; reading schemes See and Learn and Oxford Reading Tree

SEND Provision

All children admitted to Valley Special School have Special Educational Needs (SEN) and enter school either under assessment arrangements or with an Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP).
