Head Teacher's Message

A warm welcome to St Ambrose Catholic Primary School. We want all our children to feel loved and valued and we aim to help them to reach their full potential and develop the gifts and talents given to them by God. Alongside this, we strive to provide an exciting, creative and broad curriculum that encourages and challenges each child to do their best.

Curriculum Highlights

The core subjects are Mathematics, English and Science together with Religious Education and PHSE. Considerable emphasis on Reading and Maths throughout the school. History, Geography, Physical Education, Music, Art, French (KS2 ), Computing and Design Technology give a broad and balanced education. The school satisfies the requirements of the National Curriculum in all aspects. Our curriculum is designed to build on prior knowledge each year and enable the children to explore subjects through Enquiry-based learning.

Wraparound Care

Breakfast Club: Yes After-School Care: Yes

After school care is available at Edgeley Out of School club from 3.30pm to 6.00pm. The children are collected from school at the end of the day and taken to the club. There is a charge for this. Please contact 0161 429 7568 for details.

SEND Provision

If you have any concerns regarding special educational needs, please speak to your child’s class teacher as a first port of call. Further support can then be sought from Mrs Knight, the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
