Headteacher Claire Love welcomes visits from prospective parents and emphasises partnership with families; aims for Lane End to be a friendly, successful school where children are excellent learners with a wide range of enriching experiences.

Wraparound Care

Breakfast Club: Yes After-School Care: Yes

Owlets is Lane End’s wraparound breakfast and after school club. It opened in September 2021 and is based on site in the community room with access to the hall, library, computer suite, outside and the trim-trail. The club provides food and snacks included in the price. In the morning, cereal and toast are offered; at 3.20pm snacks such as sandwiches, wraps, noodles, yogurts or fruit are offered; after 5pm toast is available. Bookings are made through Magic Booking. Payment must be in advance; we accept Childcare Vouchers and Tax-Free Childcare. Cancellations must be made through Magic Booking at least 24 hours before the booking day. Late collection fees: £10 after ten minutes; £20 per 15 minutes after 6pm (5.30pm on Fridays). One emergency same-day booking per school year; additional emergency bookings incur a £10 administration fee. Signing in/out is at the community room door. Medicines require a medical form; the medication policy is on the school website. Behaviour follows the school’s policy; complaints can be sent to [email protected].

SEND Provision

SEND Information: SENCo is Gill Tweddle; support includes SEN Support Plans and possible Education Health Care (EHC) Plans in partnership with parents and the local authority; the school works with outside agencies (Educational Psychologists, Inclusion Service, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, School Nurse, CAMHS, Social Workers, etc.); there is a Mental Health Support Team in school; a Restorative Justice approach to behaviour; PSHE curriculum; opportunities to discuss progress with teachers and SENCo; attendance is monitored; there is an attendance reward system; information about local SEND services is provided via Stockport Local Offer and the Entitlement Framework.
