The Headteacher introduction presents Thorn Grove as a wonderful school in the heart of the community with a vision: 'Together we nurture curious, respectful, aspirational individuals,' underpinned by the Head, Heart and Hands Curriculum. It emphasizes caring for children, fostering a love of learning, tracking achievements, and positive relationships among pupils and staff.
Breakfast Club runs 7:45am–8:45am and After School Club runs 3:15pm–5:00pm or 3:15pm–5:45pm (term time only). Fees are listed on the wrap around care page.
Thorn Grove has an additionally resourced provision for pupils who are hearing impaired and use a sign-bilingual approach. Deaf Base is staffed and managed with Stockport Hearing & Vision Specialist Service providing specialist support.
Nursery admissions via Stockport MBC; nursery up to 44 children on two and a half day sessions with some full-time places available for 30 hours funding. Reception admissions follow the 4+ entry date with places allocated first to pupils in the school priority area, then by proximity order, with siblings given priority. In-year transfers and waiting lists are managed by Stockport Admissions; appeals process available.
