Etchells has a multi-cultural community and engages with diverse organisations such as NSPCC, Ethnic Diversity Service, Bible Encounters, Cheadle Mosque and Long Lane Church. The school also celebrates cultural diversity (e.g., Christmas and Eid cards) and works with the PTA to support community and cultural events.
Etchells is a vibrant, happy, welcoming school with an engaging, inclusive environment. Ofsted (October 2021) judged it GOOD with OUTSTANDING Early Years and Leadership & Management. The curriculum is built around Knowledge, Exploration and Communication, responds to learners’ interests, and aims to be challenging, fun and purposeful. The school has a Forest School on site, a Resource Base for SEND, a 40-place on-site nursery, and provides before and after school provision.
