The pupil premium is allocated to children from low-income families who are currently known to be eligible for Free School Meals in both mainstream and non-mainstream settings, and to looked-after children. The funds are used to provide staffing to support vulnerable and targeted learners, with intervention programs and support in reading, writing and mathematics. The funding is also used to ensure that pupil premium children are positively impacted not only through academic success but also to address barriers such as poor attendance and punctuality, and to improve self-esteem, self-belief and aspiration. The Governing Body reserves the right to allocate the Pupil Premium funding to support any pupil or groups identified as socially disadvantaged.
