Headteacher welcomes you to St Willibrord’s Catholic Primary School, emphasising a personalised curriculum, high focus on early reading and wellbeing, and an inclusive, faith-based community where education and faith go hand in hand.

Facilities

ARK/Inclusion specialist resourced provision (Ark) for Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). All Ark children are on the school roll and attend both mainstream and Resourced Provision lessons. Ark staff include a teacher and teaching assistants with additional training; external therapy support may include Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Play Therapist as outlined in EHCPs. Breakfast club is available from 8am with a charge of 50p per session. Foundation Stage has a dedicated outdoor area accessible at all times and a range of Continuous Provision activities. Pupil leadership groups include the Gift Team (Growing in Faith Together) and the SWAT Team (St Willibrord’s Action Team).

Curriculum Highlights

Art and Design curriculum with Kapow Primary scheme; units include design, making, evaluating, and knowledge of artists. Design & Technology includes Kapow Primary scheme, with strands in Design, Make, Evaluate, Technical knowledge, and Cooking and nutrition; includes six key areas (e.g., mechanisms, structures, textiles, cooking, electrical systems, Digital world). Modern Languages national curriculum aims to develop listening, speaking, reading and writing; taught through interactive methods including songs and spoken practice. Geography curriculum with local area study in each year group to build cultural capital and understanding of global places; includes fieldwork and GIS/data interpretation. Music curriculum using Charanga; aims to develop singing, instrument playing, composition, and appreciation of a range of music; supportive external teacher for tuition. PSHE and Relationships Education (RSHE) aligned with IMatters; focus on health, relationships, and living in a diverse society; use of floorbooks for assessment in PSHE.

Breakfast club available from 8am; 50p per session; Entrance to Breakfast Club is through the front door (by the office). Booster sessions may include breakfast.

SEND Provision
