Curriculum Highlights

The National Curriculum document below sets out the framework for the national curriculum and includes the statutory basis of the latter; The National Curriculum 2013. Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised (phonics) with daily phonics lessons from Reception through Year 1 and 30 minutes of phonics per day. Daily assessments and Keep Up interventions to support pupils who are falling behind. KS2 Reading Plus program to develop reading fluency and comprehension. Reading for pleasure initiatives, reading challenges and book corners; library access and book den projects.

Wraparound Care

Breakfast Club: Yes After-School Care: Yes

The Breakfast Club is open from 7.30 am - 8.55am and the After School Club is open until 6.00pm. Activities include cookery, craft, board games, reading, imaginary play, construction, sport, junk modelling, Wii games, painting, arts and crafts and many more including rounders. A snack and drink are provided each day; fresh ingredients are used and dietary requirements and parental preferences are met where possible. Children are encouraged to prepare their own snacks and to clear away after themselves. Fresh drinking water is available at all times.
