Welcomes families to Gwyn Jones; highlights cultural diversity and inclusivity, motto 'Inspire and Empower', Rights Respecting School status, broad and challenging curriculum, after-school clubs, Breakfast Club and After School Club, supportive PTSA and Governing Body, and partnership with families.

Curriculum Highlights

Curriculum built around fairness, justice, respect for similarity and difference, tolerance, empathy, and community participation. Whole-school wellbeing approach with Place2Be support and Wellbeing Award. Read Write Inc phonics scheme taught daily in EYFS and KS1. Reciprocal reading approach to develop reading comprehension in Years 2-6. Reading Eggs and Reading Eggspress available for home reading. OPAL Outdoor Play and Learning integrated into the curriculum.

Early years breakfast (7:45 to 8:45) and early years after school club (3:15 to 6:00) at an additional cost.

SEND Provision

Place2Be partnership provides emotional and therapeutic support for pupils, including One-to-One Counselling, Place2Talk at lunchtime, and Group Work; staff collaborate with the pastoral care team; Wellbeing Award.

Admissions Criteria

Nursery: priority given to looked after children (LAC/PLAC), children with EHCP, siblings, local area, and Children with additional needs considered individually. Reception/admissions follow Waltham Forest policy with priority order: Looked After/At Risk, Medical or social reasons, Siblings (in area), School Staff Children, Distance.
