Specialist support is provided by the Learning Support Department for boys of all ages from Reception through to Year 8. As well as a Head of Learning Support (SENDCo) on staff we have a team of specialists who come to school to work with our boys requiring specific support such as Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy. Teaching takes place in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, with lessons timetabled throughout the school day. Support lessons take place outside the classroom. The Learning Support staff liaise very closely with all subject teachers to ensure that each pupil’s support is linked as effectively as possible to the wider school curriculum. Individual or Group Education Plans are written at least twice a year for pupils receiving support and the department works closely with parents, pupils and staff to agree targets and monitor pupil progress. While initial assessments can be carried out by the school, the school may, on occasion, request a full assessment by outside agencies such as Educational Psychologists or Speech and Language Therapists for which there is usually an additional charge.
Tower House is non-selective; there is no entrance test to start in Reception. Offers are made in order of registration, with siblings of Prep School pupils given priority. The online registration process is used for applications; a place is offered for entry beyond Reception after online assessments in English and Maths and an informal interview with the Head or Deputy Head for Years 3 and above. Settling-in sessions are arranged for new families. Offers are made in order of registration, and there may be postponement or rejection if necessary.
Termly Fees (2025-2026 Academic Year): Reception - Year 1: £6,626 including VAT; Year 2 - Year 3: £7,277 including VAT; Year 4 - Year 8: £7,513 including VAT. Fees are totally inclusive of school lunch, personal accident insurance, Swimway swimming lessons in the Junior School, a large selection of extra-curricular clubs and all the educational materials required whilst at school. The fees also include all term-time residential trips and entrance fees for educational visits within our fees. From Year 4, overnight residential trips are an annual highlight for all boys, including trips to Flatford Mill, York, Northern France, the New Forest and Devon.
