Curriculum Highlights

EYFS curriculum based on the Early Years Foundation Stage with emphasis on Personal, Social and Emotional Development, communication, language, physical development, literacy and mathematics. In Year 1, students are taught English and Mathematics with priority given to reading, using cross-curricular topics and practical activities; books are selected daily from an extensive range. Pupils have specialist lessons in PE, French, Music and swimming; the curriculum is enhanced with co-curricular opportunities such as judo and cookery. From Year 4, students are taught Design Technology and use equipment including a laser cutter, milling machine and 3D printer. Art and Design Technology are supported by a dedicated design and technologies studio and a kiln for firing clay works.

Admissions Criteria

Admission into Reception at age 4 is non-selective. All pre-schoolers at The Mall Nursery automatically receive an offer of a place in Reception (deposit due 12 months before start). For children not in the nursery, Reception places are offered 18 months prior to the Autumn term. The first 20 children registered for each year of entry will be guaranteed the offer of a place; all subsequent registrations will be added to a waiting list. Nursery automatically offers a place in Reception.
