Head Teacher's Message

We are immensely proud of the children and their accomplishments and we are particularly delighted that so many of our children attain standards above expectations. Similarly, we have great pride in the progress of those children that may not have attained the expected or higher standards, but who are continuing to improve as they pass through each stage of the school. Our staff worked extremely hard to ensure the children were prepared for these assessments and we also appreciate the support that all our parents provide, to reinforce this at home.

Extracurriculars

Sports

Netball Swimming Tag Rugby Cricket (Moormead Girls; Boys 2nd) Athletics Football (Girls) Football (Boys) Dodgeball Basketball Cross Country

Curriculum Highlights

Global Citizenship is promoted across the curriculum through six themes linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals; social justice and equity, identity and diversity, sustainable development, peace and conflict, human rights, power and governance. Specialist teachers in Art, MFL, Music, PE and Computing to support curriculum delivery. Cross-curricular curriculum design aligned with the National Curriculum and a broad, accessible offer with emphasis on critical thinking and connections across subjects.

SEND Provision

Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) The Children’s and Families Act 2014 forms the basis of our School Offer. We have a cohesive approach to additional needs, training teachers and support staff to develop their awareness of a range of needs and enabling our learners to acquire knowledge and build self-confidence. We provide information and links to local SEND services (Richmond Borough Council Local Offer, SEND Information, Advice and Support Service) and a dedicated SENDCO (Mrs Naomi Mulholland) to assist families.

Admissions Criteria

Fair Access Protocol ensures a quick place for children without a school place and prioritises for admission to the most suitable school, potentially over the published admission number. A Fair Access Panel consisting of headteachers and council staff makes decisions on nominations and ensures resources are in place to support successful integration.
