Head Teacher's Message

Welcome to Lovelace Primary School. Opened in 1951, Lovelace is a three-form entry school with a nurturing, family feel and a motto of 'Learning Together, Succeeding Forever'. The school aims to excite and engage pupils with a progressive curriculum, high expectations, and a focus on safeguarding and pupil wellbeing; OFSTED 2024 notes positive pupil experiences and supportive staff.

Curriculum Highlights

Kapow Primary curriculum resources used to support Science, Geography/History and Art/DT from November 2024; units include a mix of weekly topics and blocks with progression across subjects. Read Write Inc phonics scheme for reading and spelling. Kapow Intents and Implementation adapted to Lovelace with 'Using Kapow – The Lovelace Way' expectations. 101 Lovelace Learning Enrichment Experiences to bring the curriculum to life through real-life experiences. Residential trips and Educational Visits to broaden learning experiences. Music and PE taught by specialist teachers with Lovelace-specific curriculums. The Lovelace Way and 7 core curriculum values underpin planning and delivery.

Wrap around care provided by Activ Camps (from February 2026 Koosa). Breakfast Club: 7:45–8:50am. After School Club: 3:15–6:00pm.

Admissions Criteria

Kingston Council has determined the admission arrangements for community schools, in-year admissions and the co-ordinated primary and secondary admissions schemes for 2026/2027. Applications for Reception in September 2026 open 1 September 2025 and close 15 January 2026. Nursery places can be applied for via Lovelace for a closing date of 6 March 2026 with results sent by early May 2026. Nursery offers include funded Full Time Places (30-hour entitlement) for 3–4-year-olds (9:15am–3:15pm) with an option of an additional paid 2.5 hours per week, and paid Full Time Places (35 hours). Guidance is provided by Kingston admissions and Achieving for Children (AfC).

Financial Information

School meals are charged at £2.65 per day unless the pupil is entitled to Free School Meals. Reception to Year 2 have free packed lunches initially via the Universal School Meals Scheme. If a pupil is not eligible for Free School Meals, packed lunches can be bought from Caterlink for £2.65 per lunch. The school is allergy aware and nut-free policy applies.
