St Benedict’s is a Catholic school shaped by the Benedictine tradition. Mass is celebrated in the Abbey Church at the start and end of each term, and on major Feast Days. The school emphasises Benedictine principles including Love and forgiveness, Service, Stability in relationships, Discipline, Reflection, and being mindful of the world around us. Chaplains, the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) and faith-based activities are part of spiritual life. Admissions Criteria

Admissions are organised by year group. Nursery admission is from age 3 with options for 8.00am–1.00pm, 8.00am–3.30pm, or 8.00am–6.00pm. Reception (age 4+) has a getting-to-know-you session and observations. Junior Department admission (age 7+) involves assessments focusing on literacy and numeracy, plus a Taster Day; pupils transfer to the Senior School at 11+. For Sixth Form (Year 12, age 16+), applications for 2026 entry close 4 January 2026; conditional offers depend on interview, school report/reference, and GCSE results; internal candidates have different minimum point requirements than external candidates (30 points internal vs 35 points external from five best GCSE results). To study A level subjects, certain GCSE grades are required (e.g., at least grade 7 in five subjects; grade 6+ in subjects studied at A level; biology/chemistry/physics require grade 7 in maths; mathematics A level typically requires grade 7, further mathematics benefit from grade 8). If not taking GCSEs, candidates may need to take an online assessment and/or subject-specific entrance papers. Age on 1 September 2026 preferably under 17 and up to 30 places are available. Closing date 4 January 2026; interviews in January 2026; offers in February 2026.
