Thomas More Catholic School is a worshipping, caring, and educating community firmly founded on the person and teachings of Jesus Christ. The school’s Catholic faith underpins its work; Chapel Club is held weekly with a Parish Chaplain (Fr. Francis Murphy) and a Lay-Chaplain (Mrs. Rodrigues) supporting spiritual life; the school begins and ends the day with prayer and liturgies, daily acts of worship, and celebrates liturgical events as part of its Catholic life.

SEND Provision

SEND provision is fully integrated into the life of the school. The SENCO is Mrs Nadine Elkhatib; the Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Mandi Larner; the SEND team includes an SEN Admin Manager (Ms Diana McClure) and ten Learning Support Assistants. The governor responsible for SEND is Mr Paul Thomas. The school uses a range of provisions including Keyworker System, 1:1 tuition, in-class support, small group intensive work, social skills training and support, reading and comprehension support, Break and Lunch club, Emotional Literacy support, Careers advice and support, Speech and Language programmes, Special Examinations Arrangements, CAMHS counselling, and liaison with external professionals. The school benefits from relationships with an Educational Psychologist and a Specialist Teacher, with ongoing staff development in SEND policy and practice.

Admissions Criteria

Thomas More Catholic School welcomes students of all faiths as well as those with no religious affiliation. As the school is part of Croydon Local Authority's In-Year co-ordination scheme, all In-Year applications should initially be made to the applicant’s Local Authority.
