Ethos & Values

Be Gentle Peacemakers Merciful Righteous Pure in Heart Persecuted for Righteousness

St Joseph's Roman Catholic Primary School is a Catholic voluntary aided school in the trusteeship of the Diocese of Westminster. The Governors consider that the greatest pastoral benefit from the education in a Catholic school is obtained by children who come from homes where the Catholic Faith is practised. Every day starts with an Act of Worship, we give thanks before lunch and we end the day with a prayer. The school promotes Gospel values and aims to foster a Christian environment where the love of God is present and enables all members of the community to grow spiritually. The programme of Religious Education follows the Catholic Directory and is taught to all children for two and a half hours per week and is central to the whole school curriculum. The school has excellent links with the parish church, The Shrine Of Our Lady Of Willesden, with the parish priest visiting weekly as part of the pastoral programme. The parish priest also celebrates Mass at the school on special occasions and for First Holy Communion celebrations. Beatitudes and Catholic life are embedded throughout school life, with resources such as the Wednesday Word and Online Mass supporting Catholic formation.
