Curriculum Highlights

BRAVE values underpin teaching and learning and are embedded in the curriculum. Curriculum designed and delivered with cognitive science in mind: learning is most effective when broken into small steps; recall and retention are improved through consolidation; understanding is continuously assessed and addressed through responsive teaching. The curriculum is interactive and designed to give pupils time to digest, apply and embed knowledge and skills.

Breakfast Club opens at 07.45 with breakfast provided; After School Club runs from 15.15 to 17.30 with a healthy snack; late pickup charges apply (£2.50 for 3:15–3:30pm; £9.00 per child after 3:30pm; £5 every 15 minutes after 17:30). Office access for collection via 07301755237 when office closed.

SEND Provision

Directly funded by the school: Place2Be counselling service; West London Zone (includes academic support, occupational therapy, after school clubs); Brent Outreach Autism Team (BOAT); Educational Psychology Service (EPS); Brent Deaf and Hearing Impaired Service (BDHIS); Brent Visual Impairment Service (BVIS); Brent Inclusion Service; Speech and Language Therapy for those with an EHC Plan (provided by Health but paid for by the Local Authority). Provided and paid for by the Health Service (NHS Trust) but delivered in school: School nurse; Physiotherapy; Occupational therapy for pupils with an EHCP or diagnosis; Speech and language therapy at School Support level.

Admissions Criteria

Brentfield Primary School is open to children from throughout Brent and is non-selective, non-denominational and co-educational. In the event of oversubscription, priority is given to children from Brentfield, Harlesden and Stonebridge Park. The school is 2-form entry with 420 primary places (Reception–Year 6) and 46 nursery places. Admission order (after EHC plans) includes: public care; siblings already attending the school; proximity (closest distance). Appeals can be made via Brent Council admissions.
