SEND Provision

Fairway School will secure a well-organised, systemic approach to inclusion, and will work alongside the Local Authority to meet the aspirations for pupils with SEND. The SEN team consists of Miss Mouscos (Deputy Headteacher & Inclusion Lead), Mrs Metcalf (Assistant SENCO), Mr Reilly (Headteacher | NASEN), Mr Ronchetti (Wellbeing Lead), and Mrs Smith (Family Support Coordinator). Key elements include: involvement of children, parents/carers and young people in decision-making; early identification of needs; collaboration between education, health and social care services; high-quality provision through Quality First Teaching within the classroom, additional interventions and bespoke support plans; greater choice and control for families; preparation for KS3 transfer to Secondary School; follows the graduated SEND Code of Practice; monitoring progress of all pupils to aid early identification of SEND. Local Authority support is via the Barnet Local Offer; additional supportive provisions include a stimulating sensory room, soft-play room and forest. SENDIASS is available for parental support.

Financial Information

Free Early Education for two-year-olds (FEE2): some places up to 15 hours per week (term time). For three- and four-year-olds (FEE3): 15 hours up to 38 weeks per year (term time); some children eligible for up to 30 hours (extension is criteria based). If not eligible for FEE2/FEE3, nursery is fee paying.
