Curriculum Highlights

English is knowledge-rich and concept-driven; focus on listening, speaking, reading and writing; progression maps and high expectations; phonics, spelling, grammar and handwriting taught; reading is central to the curriculum. Mathematics focuses on fluency, reasoning and problem-solving; concrete-to-abstract progression and cross-curricular connections. Art and Design & Design Technology curricula are skills-based, linked to topics, with sketchbooks and study of notable artists and designers. Computing uses Teach Computing; emphasis on online safety and digital literacy; ability to create, manage, organise and collaborate with technology. Modern Foreign Languages (Spanish) taught using Language Angels. Physical Education includes two hours of high-quality physical activity weekly; Year 4 swimming with a goal of 25 metres; emphasis on healthy lifestyles and teamwork. Music emphasizes singing, performing and exposure to diverse musical experiences; weekly singing assemblies and opportunities to perform.

The school provides SEND support with on-site ARP, SENCOs, and publishes SEND information, including reference to Barnet Local Offer.

Admissions Criteria

Pre-Nursery and Nursery places are applied for directly to the school; Reception to Year 6 applications are made through Barnet Council; exceptional cases for delayed, deferred or part-time entry; appeals to Barnet Council if not offered.
