A very warm welcome to Grafton Primary School website. The school is a two-form primary school in the heart of Holloway, Islington, serving a diverse community with pride and passion. It aims to teach the whole curriculum and adapts it where needed, with a strong focus on a creative approach to learning.

Curriculum Highlights

National Curriculum for England followed with a project-based approach in which creativity in art, music or literature is used to captivate imagination and give learning a purpose. Cognitive Acceleration program (Let's Think!) runs throughout the school from reception to year 6, challenging pupils in English, mathematics, and logic. Let's Think English approach with a writer in residence working with small groups of very able pupils in English across Key Stage 2. Logic training within Let's Think for pupils in Key Stage 1. Science specialist with cross-year involvement and an after-school club for budding scientists. Philosophy for Children (P4C) used to build reasoning, analysis, creation and clear thinking across subjects. Staff trained in methods to stretch the most able pupils across subjects; specialists in music, art, philosophy, English, drama, PE and science.
