Curriculum Highlights

Curriculum is contextual, chronological and themed; History, RE, DT and Art are taught chronologically where appropriate and topics in foundation subjects are grouped so learning supports and enriches other subjects. We are a Rights Respecting School with units linked to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child; every year group has a topic linked to Article 2 - No discrimination. Lessons use motivational, multisensory resources and are designed to be interactive and engaging; each half term class visits an educational visit, local walk, workshop or welcomes a visitor to bring learning to life. The Gordon Curriculum emphasizes curiosity, creativity and context to learning, enabling questions, pattern recognition, cause/effect evaluation and scenario exploration.
