Curriculum Highlights

Curriculum developed and reorganised in 2018 to support knowledge acquisition and progression. Curriculum is sequenced with a progression grid for each subject focusing on depth of knowledge and learning skills. Planning includes revisiting and retention of prior knowledge to promote mastery and increasing independence. Curriculum aims to be non-repetitive in content and progressive in depth and application. Includes “collapsed curriculum days” to apply knowledge in wider contexts and promote cultural capital. Curriculum is aligned with the National Curriculum and Early Years Foundation Stage; aims to celebrate difference and diversity; supports a Christian ethos. The School Learning Zone provides videos, learner guides, activities and quizzes mapped to topics to support home learning.
