St Joseph's Catholic Primary School sits within the Diocese of Clifton and is part of the Cardinal Newman Catholic Education Trust. It is a Roman Catholic school where faith is central to its mission, with Gospel values underpinning the caring ethos. The school places Christ at the centre of its life, aims to develop pupils spiritually, academically, emotionally, physically and socially, and maintains strong links with its parish. A school-led Mass is held each term, and parish clergy visit the school; the Diocese of Clifton and local parish work with the school to support Catholic education and pastoral care.
Being the headteacher at St Joseph's is an amazing privilege! As a past pupil of the school with many family connections, I am pleased to work with fantastic children and staff who all love being part of what is a 'Happy Family'.
Sports
St Joseph's is a Voluntary Aided school. The Governing Body is the legal Admissions Authority. Admissions use North Somerset Council’s admission applications processing systems and are part of its coordinated scheme. For in-year applications, North Somerset handles administration. The decision to admit rests with the school’s Governing Body in line with published admission criteria. For appeals, see the North Somerset Admissions Appeals Code; admission arrangements for 2025-26 and 2026-2027 are provided. Supplementary information can be given directly to the school for consideration with the application.
