Head Teacher's Message

Welcome to King’s Leadership Academy Wavertree. Our mission is to ensure that all children succeed and achieve their full potential. Our culture rests on safety, vulnerability and purpose, emphasising high academic outcomes while developing character and leadership skills so students become responsible, contributing citizens. We embed ASPIRE values—Aspiration, Self-awareness, Professionalism, Integrity, Respect, and Endeavour—through daily life and learning.

Curriculum Highlights

Academic Skills: An extended school week providing the equivalent of a 6-year KS3&4; a high-quality, inclusive curriculum that is vocabulary-led, knowledge-rich, broad and balanced with a very high uptake of the English Baccalaureate (EBacc) - over twice the national average. Intellectual Habits: Focus on transforming life chances by shaping habits of daily punctuality and attendance, combined with a highly positive attitude to learning to maximise time to develop core academic skills. Qualities of Character: The ASPIRE code provides a values-led decision-making framework to help students codify their behaviour and gain perspective. Qualities of Leadership: Leadership development is central to the curriculum, with numerous leadership and character-building opportunities (including combined cadet force, sports leaders, classroom leaders, school parliament) and compulsory Duke of Edinburgh Award as part of the curriculum.
