Curriculum Highlights

Broad and balanced curriculum aligned with the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum 2014. Curriculum intends to build the knowledge, understanding and skills of all pupils to enable progression through each key stage, regardless of starting points. Each unit lasts for approximately a half term. Each unit starts with a hook to engage children. Includes a curriculum overview to be sent to parents detailing key learning. Includes a visit/visitor whenever possible. Develops collaboration and independent skills. Insists on basic skills as a non-negotiable. Results in high-quality outcomes which will be shared with an audience. Subject areas include Early Years, RE, Phonics & Early Reading, Art & Design, Geography, Forest School, Maths, Science, Computing, History, PE, English, PSHE, Design & Technology, Music, and MFL.

SEND Local Offer – Special Needs; Liverpool’s local offer provides information for children and young people with SEND and their parents or carers.

Admissions Criteria

Reception is capped at 45 children. Applications should be made to the Local Authority by February. Priority order: (1) children with exceptional medical/social needs including Looked After Children, where the preferred school is named in the statement; (2) children who will have a sister or brother in the Infant department when they are due to start school; (3) children who will have a sister or brother in the Junior department when they are due to start school; (4) children whose permanent home address is closest to the school. Nursery attendance does not guarantee a Reception place. St Cleopas has 1 and 1/2 classes per year group and may have mixed-age class experiences.
