Brookhaven School is a provision for pupils with Autism and Social, Language and Communication difficulties. Eligibility: Children are eligible for admission if they have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) that identifies ASD and/or SLCN as their primary needs and names Brookhaven School as the appropriate provision. Age Range: 11–16, with a maximum intake of 80 students. Referral Pathway: All pupils are referred to Brookhaven School by the Bury Local Authority. Most students join in Year 7, transitioning from mainstream primary schools or primary resource provisions; in-year transfers may be considered via LA referral. The Bury Local Authority is responsible for admissions; Brookhaven will assess needs in collaboration with the LA during the consultation and determine fit for Brookhaven’s specialist provision.
