Regular teacher assessments and pupil progress meetings identify pupils needing extra support. The SENCO (Mrs Harding) coordinates SEND provision, including teaching assistants and potential involvement of outside agencies (Educational Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Visual/Hearing Impairment Teams, Occupational Therapy, CAMHS, School Nurse, Early Help, SEMHs, Mind, Place 2 Be, Relax Kids, EL SA). The school follows the Graduated Response (Assess, Plan, Do, Review) and holds termly pupil-centred reviews with parents. Resources are allocated via a school provision map and reviewed termly. For emotional health and wellbeing there are targeted programmes and a designated lead (Mrs Graham) with an EL SA and access to external services; transitions and look-after arrangements are supported.
Planned Admission Number (PAN) is 30 children per class. The Governors will not place restrictions on Reception if applications do not exceed the PAN. Oldham Council coordinates admission processes for primary entry; Nursery offers part-time places; Reception applications follow the council’s timeline (normally Oct–Jan). In-Year Transfers follow Oldham Council procedures. The school provides information regarding transition and may arrange visits for SEND pupils; in Year 6 information is sent to the secondary SENCO with possible local visits.
School meals cost £14.50 per week (£2.90 per day) with dinner money paid via the school app. Some children may be eligible for Free School Meals. Breakfast club is available for Years 1–6 and is free; Reception may attend by request after settling in. A paid after-school club costs £10 per day (3:15–5:45). Uniform can be purchased from Debonair or School Trends; a uniform swap shop is available in the main entrance.
