The Headteacher, Mrs Tania Wood, states the curriculum is designed to inspire awe, challenge thinking and reflect pupils’ needs, rooted in school values and aimed at fostering collaboration, resilience and responsibility.
Autism Resource Base opened in October 2014 to support the needs of a small group of children with an EHCP and a diagnosis of Autism. Pupils in the Resource Base follow an adapted National Curriculum and lessons are taught at pupils’ pace in small groups with a higher ratio of adult support. Entry criteria include: the child must have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and a formal diagnosis of autism; the child should be able to access the mainstream school and do some integration with mainstream pupils; the admittance must be compatible with the current Resource Base cohort.
