"Dignity and Excellence"
Saint John Henry Newman RC College is a Catholic secondary school. The school has a Chaplain, Fr. Joel, who is a member of The Spiritan Order of Priests and Brothers in the British Province and is part of the Just Youth Team which provides chaplaincy for schools in Manchester and beyond. As the School Chaplain, he promotes spiritual and pastoral needs, visits every department on Thursdays when available, is visible and approachable around the school, accompanies pupils and staff at challenging times, supports the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, and helps foster a cohesive synthesis between faith and life in the school community. Just Youth and Fr. Joel organize retreats for year groups; there are daily moments of prayer and liturgical activities, and a chapel that serves as a spiritual hub. The school celebrates liturgical year and includes prayer, retreats, and parish links as part of Catholic life.
