SEND Provision

Mesne Lea Primary School provides SEND provision including four main areas of need (Communication and Interaction, Cognition and Learning, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), and Sensory/Physical Needs). The school uses the Assess-Plan-Do-Review (APDR) cycle to tailor support for individual pupils. There is Early Years SEND support and school-age SEND guidance, with an appointed SENDCo (Mrs K. Dougill) and Individual Support Plans (ISPs) reviewed twice a year. The school references the Salford Thrive Graduated Response and the Thrive Directory as part of its local offer.

Admissions Criteria

Admissions follow published criteria including Looked After and Previously Looked After children; Children in Need; Exceptional medical reasons; Brother or sister (in attendance at the school from reception to year five); and children living nearest to the school. If the number of places is oversubscribed, priority is given to those closest to the school, measured by straight-line distance, with random allocation used to break ties. There is no automatic transfer from nursery to reception.
