SEND Provision

Stocksbridge Nursery Infant School has an Inclusion Quality Mark; SEND in school is led by Mr Barker who is the SENCO; the SENCO observes children to support teachers, meets regularly with parents, liaises with other professionals and coordinates their visits; works with neighbouring pre-school providers and Stocksbridge Junior School to ensure smooth transition for children with SEND and/or disability needs; liaises with the SEND link governor; organises additional provision for children in school term following meetings with all staff; references the SEND Code of Practice.

Admissions Criteria

There are 3 entry points for children into our nursery at the beginning of each new term (September, January and April). Children can start the term after their third birthday, subject to availability. 15 hours per week free nursery provision (Pattern A or B) and up to 30 hours may be available; 30 hours requires a code. Nursery registration can be made via an online form or by phoning the school; Reception place applications are handled by Sheffield City Council. Reception is for children who turn four by 31 August; applications for the following academic year open in Autumn and close on 15 January. An induction program is provided for Nursery and Reception.
