The Minster Junior School is a Church of England Academy within the Southwark Diocesan Board of Education Multi-Academy Trust. The Minster Junior School is the church school for The Minster, Croydon, with close links to Croydon Minster Church. As a Church of England school, we teach Bible stories from the Old and New Testaments, and we also teach about other faiths. We have daily collective worship and an inclusive environment that welcomes all faiths.
Executive Headteacher Ali Silke welcomes families to The Minster Junior School, a long-serving church school that joined the Southwark Diocesan Board of Education Multi-Academy Trust in April 2022. The ethos is inclusive and Christian, focusing on self-esteem and mutual respect, celebrating diversity, and developing the whole child through a creative, challenging curriculum and strong partnerships with parents and governors.
The SEND provision is overseen by the Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion (SENCo). The SENCo oversees all support and progress of any child who requires additional provision; class teachers plan with the SENCo; Learning Support Assistants may work with pupils individually or in small groups; Every child on the SEND register is provided with an SEN Support Plan with specific targets. Progress is reviewed at least half-termly, and parents/ carers are invited to termly meetings. The school coordinates with Croydon Local Offer, Croydon Locality SEND Support (CLSS), and external agencies as needed; The Minster SEND team is led by Mr D Francis.
