"Making Excellence a Habit"
Welcome from Principal Mr Evans: Maritime Academy offers an outstanding learning environment designed to develop critical thinkers and lifelong learners. The message emphasizes a traditional ethos and values, with students encouraged to be respectful, aspirational and responsible members of the school community.
Sports
Inclusive provision is the responsibility of the whole school community. Maritime Academy aims to remove barriers to learning so every student can participate in a broad, balanced and creative curriculum. The SEND Co-ordinator is Miss L Cutler. The academy references Medway Local Offer and other support services (SENDIAS, local and national resources) and notes that staff are safeguarding trained and that policies and procedures are in place to support student safety and welfare.
Maritime Academy is non-selective for both boys and girls. Prospective pupils are not required to take or pass the Medway Test or any other entry tests. For Year 7 admissions (2026), applications are handled through Medway Council with key dates including applications opening 1 September 2025 and closing 31 October 2025, and a National Offer Day on 2 March 2026. Applicants may name up to six schools and appeals are handled according to the School Admission Appeals Code.
