Curriculum Highlights

KS3 follows the National Curriculum content across core and foundation subjects including English, mathematics, science, history, geography, MFL (French and Spanish), creative arts, performing arts (dance, music and drama), technology (food, design technology and computing), PE and religious education, with Personal Development (PSHE, Citizenship, British values and Careers); two hours of PE/Dance per week; extensive extra-curricular programme. KS4 covers years 10 and 11 with core subjects English, maths and science studied over two years (English Language/Literature; Maths; Double Award Science) and three additional subjects chosen (including EBACC options). KS5 offers AS/A2 or BTEC Level 2/3 courses with a focus on continuing literacy, numeracy and personal development; pathway to university or apprenticeships. The timetable comprises 55-minute lessons, six lessons per day (2 before break, 2 before lunch, 2 in the afternoon), totaling 30 lessons per week and about 32.5 hours of school time per week.

The Laurel Centre (SRP) is a specialist resourced provision for students with an EHCP with Autism.
