Rufford Base provides specialist SEND provision with EHCPs, higher staffing ratios and a hybrid model enabling access to activities with mainstream peers; uses the EEF Five-A-Day principles and offers interventions delivered by teaching assistants (e.g., Little Wandle Phonics, Speech and Language 1:1 sessions, nurture groups, social groups, maths boosters, precision teaching). Works with Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, and other professionals; further SEND information is provided in the Rufford SEND Information Report.
Admissions to the Rufford Base follow the Dudley SEND Panel recommendations; children are admitted by the process of 'naming' the setting within their EHCP (Section I). All children are placed on roll at Rufford Primary School. The Base currently accepts 6 children (full) and plans to admit 12 after further adaptations.
