As Headteacher at St Hild’s Church of England School, I am proud to work with a community of staff, parents/carers and governors who wish for our pupils to ‘strive for excellence’ and experience ‘life in all its fullness’.

Curriculum Highlights

GCSE & BTEC subjects offered include Art & Design, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Drama, English Language, English Literature, Geography, Graphic Communication and Photography, Graphic Products, History, Maths, Music, Physics, Religious Education, and Science Trilogy (Dual Award); BTEC options include Health & Social Care, Hospitality & Catering, and Sports. Key Stage 3 follows the National Curriculum across English, Maths, Science, Creative Industries (Art, Food & Technology), Drama, Modern Foreign Languages, Geography, History, Computing, Music, Physical Education and Religious Education; Accelerated Reading and literacy support for Years 7-8. Key Stage 4 includes English Language & Literature, Maths, Science, Physical Education and Religious Education; History or Geography; Trilogy Science; and a range of academic and vocational subjects; extended enrichment and a wide range of extra-curricular activities are available, including Duke of Edinburgh Award, Anti-Bullying Ambassadors and Performi ng Arts. Extensive extra-curricular offer includes local, national and international field trips, various sporting activities and clubs; a Sports Leadership course; Performing Arts; Art club; Student Librarian programme; Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme; Anti-Bullying Ambassadors; Science Ambassador programme and Debate Club; enrichment clubs across departments.

Admissions are overseen by NEAT Academy Trust. The admission number for Year 7 is 120. Admissions policies are available on the NEAT website. In-year admissions are coordinated by Hartlepool Borough Council. Settling-in arrangements include transition visits from primary schools and a transition programme; parents may apply online.
