St Columba’s Catholic Primary School is a faith‑based community where Religious Education is described as being at the heart of all we do. Pupils learn about the Bible, the life and teachings of Jesus, and the core beliefs of the Catholic Church, and are encouraged to ask big questions and appreciate others’ beliefs. The teaching is guided by Catholic Social Teaching, aims to help pupils live with love, kindness and respect, and is supported by a range of learning lenses (Bible, Liturgical, Cultural) to encounter Jesus in different ways. The curriculum is underpinned by the school Virtues and is enriched through collaboration with Blessed Christopher Wharton Trust and the Diocese, with aims to grow pupils into compassionate, thoughtful, and responsible individuals who live out Gospel values in daily life.
