Welcome to Westende Junior School. We are a happy, inclusive and family-orientated school with a strong community ethos. Our aim is to provide a nurturing, inclusive and inspiring learning environment which develops happy, confident children and ignites their passion for learning. The school highlights Growth Mindset, extensive extracurricular activities and enriching trips, contributing to standards above the national average. SEND Provision

The Acorns Resource Base provides support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It includes two classrooms, a sensory room and its own outdoor learning area, plus access to specialist teaching such as Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Social Skills. Pupils allocated to the Resource Base have an Education Health and Care Plan (ECHP) and are referred via the Local Authority. Capacity is 14 pupils. Where possible, pupils participate in mainstream classes for all or part of the week.

Admissions Criteria

Westende Junior School is part of The Circle Trust, and admissions are handled by The Circle Trust. Admissions information includes oversubscription criteria, a designated area, and Year 3 admissions through the home local authority. The National Closing Date for Year 3 applications for 2026/27 is 15 January 2026. Waiting lists apply and in-year admissions are handled through The Circle Trust.
