Curriculum Highlights

Art and Design is based on the National Curriculum; end points include producing creative work, drawing, painting and understanding great artists; Arts Award available in Key Stage 2. French is taught to pupils in Key Stage 2 using the Kapow French Scheme; focus on language acquisition, cultural awareness and knowledge organisers. Music involves partnership with the Hallé Orchestra and Hallé Inspire project; Silver Artsmark; Year 3 and Year 5 have Arts Award opportunities. Mathematics uses Power Maths with Mastering Number; daily maths teaching; pre-teach sessions; Number Sense Maths for times tables; aim for fluency and problem solving. Computing uses four themes (computing systems and networks; programming; data and information; creating media); includes e-safety and safe use of technology. Design and Technology focuses on six aspects; includes cooking and nutrition connected to the school allotment; KS2 includes electrical and digital systems with higher complexity.

Admissions Criteria

Forward As One Multi Academy Trust named as admissions authority; Faith-based criterion added; Nursery attendance now a priority before medical/social needs; Medical/social needs moved from Priority 2 to Priority 5; Tie-breaker simplified to random allocation.

Financial Information

Nursery: 15 hours universal entitlement (free). 30 hours working parent entitlement; 30 hours additional hours by agreement (costs may apply).
