"They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season."
Alder Grove is a Church of England Primary School. As a Church of England school, we aim to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child can explore faith, reflect on values and develop a sense of spirituality. We work closely with our local parish church and clergy as well as other local churches, who regularly lead worship in school and welcome us for special services throughout the year. Requests to withdraw children from Collective Worship will be granted without delay. Alder Grove is part of The Keys Academy Trust and aims to provide the highest levels of academic excellence and pastoral care, with a Christian ethos and values guiding daily life. Collective Worship is central to our daily life and is shaped by the Church calendar including key festivals such as Christmas and Easter.
Headteacher Mr P Theobald welcomes families to Alder Grove, emphasising a vibrant Christian-based community, growth of pupils, and the Keys Academy Trust partnership which supports educational and pastoral excellence. The message highlights values of kindness, service, truthfulness, forgiveness, courage and perseverance, and aims for pupils to flourish and be prepared for secondary education and beyond.
SENDCo is Mrs Caird, responsible for overseeing provision for children with SEND and lead for Inclusion; contact [email protected]; working days are Tuesday and Thursday. We work in partnership with external professionals such as Educational Psychology service, Behaviour and Learning Support service and Speech and Language Therapy. Individual Provision Plans identify actions and supports, regularly monitored by the class teacher and SENDCo. The school references the Wokingham Local Offer and provides links to local SEND resources.
