"At Delce We Do Belong"
At Delce Academy, the Headteacher emphasizes an unwavering belief that every child has limitless potential, a nurturing, belonging-focused community, and a vibrant, engaging curriculum designed to foster curiosity, high aspirations and a partnership with parents and the local community.
The Delce Education Centre (DEC) is a specialist resource provision within the school for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) who have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP). It is split over two classes and can cater for up to 15 primary-aged pupils. Staff are trained in trauma-informed practice, guided by the five principles of trauma-informed practice: safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness and empowerment. The DEC supports pupils through assemblies, small-group sessions, Zones of Regulation, and enrichment opportunities, with a commitment to creating a safe, stimulating learning environment where every pupil is respected and valued.
