"Through the hope Jesus inspires, we encourage one another and build each other up to be our best selves."
As a Church Voluntary Aided Primary School, Saint Barnabas works hard to develop and sustain the school’s Christian distinctiveness. We work in close partnership with the Church of Saint Barnabas and make regular visits as a school. Religious Education is a core subject at our school and is timetabled weekly; we learn about Christianity using Understanding Christianity and we also use the Emmanuel Project to learn about other religions and world views. We have daily Collective Worship in the school hall and classrooms, worship with Saint Barnabas Church, and opportunities for prayer spaces and reflection. The Ethos Committee leads, plans and evaluates collective worship and the school’s values; we welcome families from all faiths and none and aim to foster respect, compassion and understanding across diverse beliefs.
Welcome to St Barnabas. We are proud to be an inclusive and deeply caring Church of England primary school in the heart of Erdington. As part of the Fioretti Trust, we are committed to a nurturing, values-led education that enables every child to develop their unique gifts, confidence, and flourish academically, spiritually, and personally. Our vision is, "Through the hope Jesus inspires, we encourage one another and build each other up to be our best selves." The January 2025 SIAMS inspection praised the transformational impact of living out this vision, noting that pupils and adults flourish together in hope.
