Six Pillars of Ark Pioneer: High aspirations, Rigorous, academic curriculum, Excellent teaching, Instilling values, Self-discipline, Quality training Reading is at the heart of our provision with Reading for Pleasure sessions (2 in Year 7 and 8 per week, 1 in Year 9), reading age assessments and support programmes (Lexia, Read Write Inc: Fresh Start) and KS5 reading mentoring Disciplinary literacy across subjects: subject leaders plan literacy support tailored to each discipline (e.g., maths vocabulary and problem-reading strategies) and the curriculum is designed to be knowledge-rich and memory-oriented Enrichment and wider learning: timetabled enrichment every week, subsidised instrumental lessons, choir and instrumental ensembles, sport and trips, Duke of Edinburgh and network performance opportunities

Admissions Criteria

Sixth Form entry criteria include: 3 subjects at GCSE Grade 6-9 and 2 at Grade 5-9 including at least Grade 4 in English and Maths, with individuals entry criteria for specific subjects. For Professional Pathways: 3 subjects at GCSE Grade 5-9 and 2 at Grade 4-9 including at least Grade 4 in English and Maths; to complete the Professional Pathway Science you must have achieved at least a 5-4 in Trilogy Science.
