Head Teacher's Message

UTC@MediaCityUK presents as a unique 13–18 technical and creative college in MediaCityUK, with links to industry partners (ITV, BBC, Sky) and a focus on preparing students for employment in the digital media sector through hands-on learning and leadership opportunities; opened in 2015 and part of the Aldridge Education family.

Curriculum Highlights

KS3/KS4 core GCSE subjects include English Language, English Literature, Maths and Combined Sciences. Students then opt to follow a specialist pathway. KS5 curriculum includes Level 3 BTEC in Creative Digital Media Practice, with the option of an additional A Level, alongside Maths and English re-sits. Timetable is 32.5 hours per week with a structured daily schedule (Registration at 8:45; periods P1–P5). Independent study plans and revision resources are provided via Google Classroom. Live briefs and real industry commissions underpin the curriculum, supporting employability.
