Head Teacher's Message

Joel Wirth, Principal, describes TRC as an engine of opportunity and social change, dedicated to meeting the needs of 16–18 learners in an academically challenging yet welcoming and inclusive environment. He emphasizes specialist staff, progression to universities (including Russell Group and Oxbridge), apprenticeships, and a strong support network with Progress Tutors and counsellors to support wellbeing and success.

Admissions Criteria

Thomas Rotherham College accepts applications from 16–18-year-old students from partner schools in the Rotherham and Sheffield area, with over 50 schools represented. Applicants apply online and the college acknowledges applications before inviting them to induction. The application deadline to be invited to Taster Days is Friday 22 May 2026.
