Talk for Writing (TfW) is used school-wide as the approach to teaching writing. It follows three stages (Imitation, Innovation, Independent Application) to move learners from dependent to independent writers. It includes modelling, evaluating, innovating, and recall/revising. The curriculum is inclusive for SEND and EAL, with targeted scaffolding and support for disadvantaged pupils. It is supported by NPAT Teacher Assessment Framework, NPAT Primary Writing Toolkit, diagnostics and moderation across the school and trust.
